The East Bay Green Job Corps

Bridge Program

Note: This page contains in-depth details of the EBGJC Bridge Program. If you are interested in applying for the program, click here.

Rising Sun provides green job skills training for young adults ages 18 to 24 with barriers to employment through its East Bay Green Job Corps Bridge Program (EBGJC). The participants in this program receive the skills, training and support services necessary for successful referral into a green career training center, community college, or entry-level employment.

This program takes an integrated approach by providing case management, training and employment together to provide wraparound educational and supportive services for participants. Participants gain valuable work experience by providing free energy efficiency retrofits to residents in their communities.

Over the course of 18 months in 2010 and 2011, the EBGJC will run six times - twice in Oakland, twice in Richmond, and twice in Berkeley. Each eight-week program will graduate a cohort of between 15 to 18 young adults, for a total of 90 to 108 participants.

Rising Sun is only one organization in the collaborative that is running the East Bay Green Job Corps Program. More details of the program are outlined in this document.
